Identify Needs
We take the time to understand exactly what types of skills and experience you need by performing thorough due diligence.
To us it's simple...
"Do things the right way. For the right reasons. Good things will follow."
The most important decision any company or organization makes is arguably its investment in human capital. Unfortunately searching for the right professional can be a difficult and time-consuming process. In fact, 50% of new hires fail!
Failure to establish a cultural fit
Unclear expectations of the role
Hiring based on gut rather than a process to evaluate candidates
Working with ProNexus reduces your risk of a poor hire because your hiring need is our top priority, our process evaluates candidates with an unbiased approach, and we guarantee delivery.
In a fast-paced and competitive business environment, it is not always possible to hire staff using a traditional approach. Using ProNexus for Retained Search means we work exclusively with you, evaluating talent against our agreed-upon criteria and understanding the company culture and role to lower your risk of an unsuitable hire ultimately.
We work on a limited number of searches at a time to ensure we meet your time frame without compromising the quality of the search process.

A retained search is a professional service whereby a company pays a fee to the professional search firm while it manages the entire recruiting process to fill the open position.
The simple answer is all companies looking to hire top talent or struggling to fill an open role. It is a candidate driven market and we have the tools to help you put together a competitive offer.
The retained search fee is typically a percentage of the first-year base salary or an agreed upon fixed dollar amount. A portion of the fee is paid upon signing the search contract, a second payment is due while the search for candidates is being conducted, and a final payment is due once the candidate starts their new position with our client.
The retained search firm works in complete partnership with the client to seek out the best group of candidates to be considered.
A contingency firm offers a service with no payment upfront and will often be working on multiple searches at once - prioritizing ones that can be executed quickly to ensure payments for their search. This is a less refined process with a large volume of potential candidates which increases the client risk of making a costly hiring mistake and losing productivity.
There are circumstances where we make this recommendation to a potential client. Our years of experience in finance & accounting recruiting have taught us that not every job opening is suited for a retained search, and we will be open and honest with you about that when discussing your open position.
Whether you need senior-level professionals for ongoing projects, or permanent placement, our finance and accounting specialists are ready to help. From accounting clerks to analysts, CFOs, and many other roles, we can quickly help you find the top talent you are looking for.
ProNexus was engaged by the client to partner with the current CFO to assess the skill sets needed for the future CFO to be successful.
As a result of the unique ProNexus process, we were able to provide 4 locally based candidates within 4 weeks of kicking off the Search Project. The candidate hired was a previous CFO in non-profit, skilled nursing facilities with similar revenue as the client.
ProNexus was engaged by the client to partner with their current audit firm to assess the skills sets needed for the future Controller to be successful. As part of our due diligence review, ProNexus recommended the client needed someone with a strong background in construction and manufacturing, to implement best practices within the accounting department, including AIA billing requirements.
The client is a medium manufacturing company in Rochester, NY that specializes in providing customized label printing and packaging for a variety of industries. The organization recently announced the retirement of their long-standing CFO. They engaged ProNexus to provide them with a top-notch CFO that was local and ideally had industry experience.
